Despite an increasing number of womenswear collections that are advocating the unisex look, there remains a strong group of designers that will be presenting pre-collections with a ladylike sensibility this season at Tranoï Preview Spring/Summer 2016. Far from being outdated, these collections are inspired by the modern woman who is secure in her femininity, and whose fashion choices can be seen as the very symbol of female empowerment and class.

Inspired by the creation of a woman, KATYA SHEHURINA is a London based designer that offers a unique selection of feminine bridal and womenswear pieces. Through her designs Shehurina develops a sense of personality, place and being, where this woman is life like and is reflected mystically in her gowns and our brides. Beautiful French lace, silk and Swarovski crystals are the basis of all Shehurina’s gowns.

President of the Turkish Fashion Designers Association MEHTAP ELAIDI’s signature white shirts are the spice of her collections. Every year, the brand’s pre-collection features white shirts with different cuts and volumes. For SS16, Elaidi has added blue and striped fabrics to the collection to add a playful edge.

The recently born shoewear brand LOUISA VICTORIA s philosophy wishes to advocate the pursuit of whatever-comes-to-mind desires and a feeling of independence. Each pair of shoes is carefully made in Italy and recognised by its distinctive foot-bracelet located just above the ankle. The bracelet, covered in fine leather, supports the foot in the shoe and gives the leg an overall aesthetic look.

Under the name RADÀ, designer Daniela Ravaioli creates feminine accessories as a natural extension of an elegant woman who has a discreet charm. The SS2016 jewellery collection is inspired by a bohemian summer, mixing precious and decontextualized materials with joyful flair. The result is a hippy-rock femininity that is anything but ordinary.

Proving that “ladylike” is not synonymous with wallflower, PEARLS & PORTRAITS is a luxurious and new brand created and designed by Nigerian born Wunmi Akinsola. The collection captures an elegant female aesthetic with bold statement designs, using prints that are either hand-made or produced from their own photography, paintings and drawings.

Ukranian designer Valery Kovalska combines an interesting mix of urban-gothic chic and Japanese influences to create statement dresses that are both flattering and avant-garde. For SS16 she will be presenting her second line KO STUDIO, designed with the concept of adaptability for a modern day nomad that moves seamlessly through the world, from day to night.

VANESA REY is a luxury design house based in Los Angeles and New York, focusing on elegant tech accessories for the modern woman.  The collection of tech-meets-fashion products are designed to make life easier for her without compromising style. The collection for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus is inspired by the refined design of the phone tablets themselves.
