Jean-Michel Cazabat, a native of Gascony in southern France, has been designing shoes for over 25 years. He began his career as a buyer and store manager for legendary French shoe designer Charles Jourdan, working with him from 1980 to 1985. He then ventured to New York, where he served as president of the prestigious shoe brand Stephane Kélian, overseeing operations and developing product for the American market. In 1996, Jean-Michel returned to Charles Jourdan as Creative Director. In 2000, seeing an unfulfilled niche in the luxury shoe market, Cazabat launched his own colourful, ultra-feminine women’s line with a range of truly exuberant shoes, followed by a rock-n-roll inspired, handmade men’s line a few years later.

It’s become a brand favoured by celebrities, including Sarah Jessica Parker, Jessica Alba, Scarlett Johansson, Penelope Cruz, Kate Hudson, Oprah Winfrey, Céline Dion, Goldie Hawn, Rosario Dawson, Mary-Kate Olsen, Blake Lively and Solange Knowles. Steven Tyler, Robert Downey Jr., Seal, Elton John, Lenny Kravitz and Rod Stewart have worn Cazabat’s men’s shoes, among others.

Jean-Michel Cazabat luxury shoes are available at fine stores worldwide, including Barneys, Saks Fifth Avenue, Shopbop, Maxfield L.A, and select Neiman Marcus stores.
