Sustainable and fair – from goat to cloth bag This appreciation finds expression already in the brand name “TheHolyGoat”, which winkingly elevates the cashmere goat to the rank of the proverbial holy cow. And everyone else who contributes to production is held in equally high esteem. From the goatherds in Mongolia to all the label’s producers in Nepal – including the dyers, weavers and knitters and the producers of the handmade and engraved buttons. Simone Groschler herself makes several trips per year to ensure that working conditions are good, fair, considerate and responsible. The workers at the label’s production sites receive a comprehensive range of social benefits at above-average levels, while the company also pays the tuition fees for their first child. In addition, a considerable proportion of profit is earmarked for long-term educational sponsorships for Nepalese children and for environmental and animal protection. And last but not least, TheHolyGoat has also banned all plastic from its production and delivery chain. Every item is packed in cloth and paper bags which are also produced in Nepal. Quality in every detail The company buys only certified cashmere of the very highest quality for its products. For Simone Goschler bright, pre-dyed yarns in standard colours are a definite no-no. She attaches great importance to ensuring that the company dyes all yarns by itself. The result is a vast colour spectrum embracing more than 200 tones. In addition, many yarns are hand-spun and also hand-woven, giving the finished product a distinctive and exclusive look. And standards are equally high in the manufacture style production of the brand. TheHolyGoat manufactures exclusively in small and limited quantities, giving its customers the feeling that they are wearing something very special. Because every sales partner can order the knitwear which coordinates best with the colours of its other collections.
